As stated in her brief history/bio, Jann has had a love of art since she was a child, drawing, sketching and painting throughout her school years. For most of her adult life, however, she felt she had “lost” whatever talent she had, so her roads led to different career paths. Finally overcoming her doubts, Jann began painting in fine art watercolor under the tutelage of her mother, Carol Campbell. Once she started, she just couldn’t stop, and now her works are in private collections all over the United States and abroad.
Jann thoroughly enjoys teaching drawing and painting in all artistic mediums, as well. She states that teaching gives her a sense of fulfillment in knowing that she has been a positive influence in others’ lives. Very happy to have the honor to be part of the Pocahontas community, Jann looks forward to meeting new people and perhaps being a positive influence for the folks here, as well. Thus, "Artsy Angels" was born.
Please come on down to Artsy Angels and meet Jann...you'll be glad you did!
Now Here Are a Few Words from our "Artsy Angel" Herself...
Hello All....I guess this is where you kind of "get to know" the "Artsy Angel" behind Artsy Angels. My name is Jann Campbell Delk, and my husband, Ernie, and I, along with my Dad, Glen Campbell (he says he's the comedian, not the singer), have just recently moved to this area from VA. A lot of people ask us, "Why HERE??"
Well, my dad's side of the family is here in Pocahontas and the surrounding area, including his mom, my 98 year old Grandma! Also, it's nice, friendly and quiet; and let's face it....the cost of living is much better than VA!!
Artsy Angels is a dream come true for me. I have had a burning desire to run my own gallery/studio for several years, and I'm very happy that the Good Lord has now made it possible.
I am hoping that in the near future (let's say at least a couple of years), I will be able to expand the business and the building to have room for art supply sales, as well as the gallery sales and classes we do now. In expansion, I will also be able to increase the class sizes as well as the Gallery inventory. We're kind of small right now...and I'd love to be able to have at least a few rooms for artwork display.
Artsy Angels is dedicated to providing quality, professional instruction in several mediums for anyone aged 10 or older that has a desire to be creative and have fun doing it.
We also provide a place for local artists in any artistic medium to put their work out for public view and sale on consignment. I take great pleasure in being able to display my students' finished pieces, and they get excited every time they have something new to "put out there."
If you're ever in NE Arkansas, we'd love to have you come for a visit...Relax, have a cup of coffee and some friendly conversation...browse the gallery and maybe find something you just can't live without!!

Welcome to "Jann's Place!"
Here is where you'll get a glimpse of the "Artsy Angel" behind Artsy Angels...Her artwork, a short bio and maybe a few surprises. So sit back, relax and enjoy...Jann's waiting for you!

This page provides a short bio for Artsy Angels' owner/artist/instructor, J.C. Delk
Jann Campbell Delk
Jann has always had a love for art, ever since she was a young girl in school. She was constantly drawing and painting, then life got in the way, and she began traveling down other roads. She attended high school in the very small and bone-chilling cold town of Bessemer, Michigan until 1973, when she pulled up her roots and began her life's journey on her own. Her early adult years found her trying on several different "hats" in the working world, including waitressing, restaurant/bar management and nursing.
In 1983, Jann was finally able to go to college, and she graduated ahead of schedule, after taking on full course loads each semester. She earned her liberal arts degree in December of 1984, and she finalized her degree in business management in June of 1985. Following college, she immediately began putting her new education to work, first in day care management, then managing temporary labor companies in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
In 1996, Jann met Ernie Delk.
They fell in love and married in November of 1998. Jann then started her own graphic design business, working from their home in Grand Junction, CO, creating websites, personalized calendars, stationary, invitations, greeting cards, etc. She even illustrated her own children's book, entitled "Ripples." In 2000, Ernie retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and they sold their house and most of their belongings to begin an adventure as full-time RVers, traveling and living in their RV, along with their baby, "D.J."
During thier travels, Jann and Ernie became members of Western Horizon, a private campground resort network. Soon they began working as volunteers for Western Horizon at some of the resorts they stopped at, beginning with the Blue Mesa Resort in Gunnison, CO. From there, they volunteered in AZ, UT and other areas.
In late 2001, they were forced to temporarily end their travels, as Jann needed major surgery on both her back and knee. They went to VA and spent nine months at the family home there while Jann recuperated. It was during this time that Jann accepted an invitation from her mom,
Carol Campbell, to sit in on a watercolor class. Thus began her art career in earnest. Once she started, she couldn't stop!
After a very long and arduous recovery, Jann and Ernie got back on the road, and found themselves in Pahrump, NV, where Western Horizon had purchased the ONLY Nevada winery (at that time), with plans to build an RV resort onto the winery property. Jann was working as a tour guide, gift shop attendant and customer service specialist, while Ernie handled a lot of the maintenance work for the winery and eventually helped get the ground laid for the planned resort. Jann painted whenever she got the chance, and her co-workers and friends benefitted from her growing expertise.
Western Horizon then transferred the winery/resort managers, Jim and Pam Straw, to a resort in Hood River, OR, and Jim and Pam asked Jann and Ernie to join them, so they were on the road again. They spent one season in OR, where Ernie worked maintenance and Jann was the office manager, before the resort closed for the winter and the 4 of them transferred to a resort in TX, taking up the same working positions. Long-time friends of Jann and Ernie's, Ivan and Karen Skolnekovich, had also been working for Western, and they were given the opportunity to manage the RV resort in Salisbury, NC. They asked Jann and Ernie to sign on with them in NC in the same working venues, so in 2004, the Delks moved to the east coast, only 6 hours away from family in VA. Jann taught watercolor classes at the resort, while she experimented with other media, such as drawing, pastel and acrylics.
Unfortunately, Jann's mom took ill with lung cancer in Dec., 2005, and Jann left NC to be with her until her death in March, 2006. Jann's Dad, Glenn Campbell,
has suffered with Lou Gehrig's disease for several years, and after her mom's death, Jann and Ernie took on the responsibility as his caregivers, giving up the RV lifestyle. Jann's family on her dad's side, for the most part, live in and around the Pocahontas, AR area, including Jann's grandmother,
98 year-young Mae Campbell. UPDATE: "Grandma Mae" passed away on June 24, 2007. She'll be missed, but we know she's cradled in Jesus' Loving Arms!!
Wanting to be close to his side of the family, Glenn decided he wanted to move to AR. Jann, Ernie, Glenn, Jann's brother,
Kevin , and Jann's sister,
Glenda, all moved to the area from VA in Aug/Sept of 2006. Shortly thereafter, Jann's youngest brother,
Keith, also came to AR, but he eventually moved back to NC. Yet another brother, the eldest of the sons, Ron,
still resides in VA with his wife, Alison, and daughters, Amanda and Jessie.
Thus began a concerted effort by Jann and her sister, Glenda, to start a business...Artsy Angels Art Studio and Gallery.

Glenda & Jann Cutting the Grand Opening Cake
Glenda returned to VA in December, just a day before her first grandchild, Justin Lee Hanshaw, was born. Her amazing artwork, teaching and bubbly personality is truly missed! You can view some of "Glenny's" work on her subdomain here on our site: http://www.glennyp.artsyangels.net
Come on down to Artsy Angels and meet Jann...She'd love to share some conversation and a hot cup of coffee with you!!
